Who will you be five years from now? This question has been posed to most of us at least once in life. But when Mr. Mehra was asked this question, he replied instantly sans any expressions: “I will be an actor.” The responses to this answer ranged from “Stop joking” to “Have you lost your mind”. But even though the answer was ridiculed, it never changed. He auditioned day after day. Got married. Had a child. Became a theatre addict. And dreamed on. And when they laughed at his dreams, he dreamed bigger. They thought he was crazy. But he thought he was hopeful. He just needed to be at the right place at the right time. That’s all. So when he faced another rejection in the audition room today, he left with a back up plan. He decided to stop trying… starting his new journey on a sweet note. So he made his way to the quaint by-lanes of kala ghoda in Mumbai and planted himself in the refreshing walls of his favourite cafe. A plate of fluffy waffles with a side of thick vanilla custard and fresh fruits were presented to him. He shut his eyes and dived into his new journey. And as the sweet flavours burst into his mouth, he felt someone tap on his shoulder. He looked up to see a haggard old man say, “I saw you at the audition. Would you like to read this script?” Finally, he was at the right place, at the right time.
